Making Stories is an independent knitwear design publisher founded by Verena Cohrs and Hanna Lisa Haferkamp and based in Berlin. Our mission is to promote knitwear designers from around the world as well as ethically produced and envi- ronmentally friendly yarn sources. We are, and love to collaborate with, small female run and feminist businesses who are transparent in their operations. Honesty and kindness are the cornerstones of both our public voice and internal spirit.
You can find more about Making Stories on our website making-stories.com where we also host our blog and on our Instagram profile @_makingstories!
BREEZE is the second book in our European Nature series which combines ethically and environmentally-friendly made yarns with modern, minimalist knitwear designs. All yarns used in our European Nature series are sourced and processed in Europe.
BREEZE includes 11 knitwear patterns ranging from socks to summery tops as well as sweaters and cardigans perfect for layering in the warmer seasons. All designs take you from morning to night during a beautiful breezy summer day.
BREEZE showcases the yarn makers and designers involved in the creation of these patterns through profiles accompanying each design. Three articles - the story of new linen brand Lino Mūka, Ani Lee's (CloseKnit) #MyMakingStories and our own story of shooting a summer collection in the middle of winter - round out our second print publication.
Two of the patterns in this issue; Joran and Solano team up perfectly with our Lino Muka!!
