At Ja, Wol we love sharing our passion for good quality, beautiful, luxury yarns and we're always on the lookout for new talent. There are so many talented indie dyers that I could run a chain of shops and I wouldn't be able to fill them. So I've decided to choose a couple of indie dyers each year and ask them to send me their personal favorites. Hopefully, once our limited amounts have gone, our customers will be able to connect directly to the artist. This way Ja, Wol can maintain a dynamic and up-to-date collection while also continuing to support makers by giving them a thorough introduction.
Saskia at Ovis Et Cetera dyes her yarns with the environment as her biggest customer. Her yarns are local and untreated so the amazing qualities of natural wool are there for us to enjoy fully. The yarns are non superwash and sustainably dyed, using a dye process without the use of heavy metals and exhausting the dye baths so there is only clean water left at the end.
All this is fabulous, but the yarns wouldn't be so enticing if it weren't for Saskia's excellent sence of colour. Her trademark goes beyond the sustainable production process and leaves us with beautiful yarns to enjoy.
