#103 - "Freedom Within the Structure: How I Use My Bullet Journal in Business"

In this second episode of my Bullet Journal mini-series, I take you deeper into my daily, weekly, and project planning routines to show how the Bullet Journal Method keeps my business—and life—grounded, focused, and flexible.

I begin by explaining that Bullet Journaling isn’t just about getting more done. In fact, for me, it’s quite the opposite. It’s a mindful practice for doing less but doing it with more clarity, confidence, and alignment. I use it to choose the right things to focus on, at the right time, in a way that supports both my work and well-being.

In this episode, I break down three core ways we tend to use journals—logging, journaling, and planning—and explain how the Bullet Journal Method combines all three into one simple tool. I share how I use it to track daily tasks, events, notes, and even my moods and physical well-being, all while staying flexible to the flow of my life and business.

I walk you through my typical daily routine with the journal—from setting an intention for the day and reviewing what’s been done to migrating tasks and choosing a single priority. You’ll hear how my daily pages act as a calm, grounding space for both planning ahead and reflecting back.

I also share how I organize my weekly spreads, combining reflection with a visual layout for tasks and events that lets me clearly see my week at a glance. My process shows how the journal acts as a partner to my digital calendar and other tools, creating a supportive ecosystem that adapts as I do.

Beyond day-to-day and week-to-week use, I explain how I plan larger projects using what’s called “collections” in the Bullet Journal Method. These project pages help me keep track of big goals, brainstorms, and action steps in a way that stays connected to my deeper intentions and values. I even share how I customize my project planning to fit my unique needs—like leaning toward fluid, non-SMART goals that leave room for creativity and change.

Throughout the episode, I emphasize that Bullet Journaling is a practice, not a system you master overnight. It’s a tool you grow into over time, and one that can evolve with you.

If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed by complex systems or unrealistic to-do lists, this episode offers a gentler way forward—one that blends structure with freedom and invites you to work at your own pace.

Finally, I invite you to join BuJo by the Sea, my free six-week summer journaling challenge designed to help you dip your toes into the practice and build clarity and confidence, one bullet at a time.
